REL 411 is a vinyl ester resin based on a standard bisphenol A epoxy backbone, specifically designed for demanding corrosion-resistant equipment applications. REL 411 Standard Bisphenol A Vinyl Ester Resin combines the excellent chemical resistance of epoxy resins with the good processing characteristics of unsaturated polyester resins. This resin offers excellent processing properties, ensuring smooth operation during the impregnation of reinforcing materials, lamination, and curing.


Furthermore, its superior batch-to-batch stability and consistency guarantee highly predictable and reliable performance in the final product, making it an ideal matrix material for manufacturing corrosion-protective linings and structural components such as chemical storage tanks, pipelines, and scrubbers.


Typical geltimes(2) using NOROX(3) MEKP-925H(4) catalyst (MEKP) and Cobalt Naphthenate or Octoate-6%(5)(Cobalt6%), Diethylaniline(7)(DEA) and 2,4-Pentanedione (2,4-P)

(5) Use of cobalt octoate, especially in combination with 2.4-P can result in 20-30% slower gel times

REL 411 Vinyl Ester Resin is designed for ease of fabrication using hand lay-up, spray-up, filament winding,compression molding and resin transfer molding techniques, pultrusion and molded grating applications.An alternate viscosity, optimized for some vacuum infusion processes, is available for customized process in viscosity and gel time of our resins.
