REL 470 is an epoxy novolac vinyl ester resin specifically designed for extreme industrial environments, particularly chimney liners and pipe linings. Its core properties stem from the incorporation of a novolac backbone, enabling exceptional performance under the combined effects of sustained high temperatures and chemical corrosion. This Epoxy Vinyl Ester Resin not only delivers outstanding long-term high-temperature resistance, capable of withstanding thermal cycling from flue gases, but also provides superior solvent and chemical corrosion resistance, effectively resisting attack from acidic condensates and complex chemical media. Additionally, its lower styrene content helps reduce volatilization and shrinkage during the curing process, enhancing the friendliness of the working environment. It is an ideal matrix material for manufacturing high-temperature resistant, corrosion-resistant fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) chimney liners, scrubbers, and high-temperature piping.

REL 470 epoxy novolac vinyl ester is a novolac-based vinyl ester designed to provide exceptional mechanical properties at higher temperatures. This resin offers a high resistance to solvents and chemicals, good retention of strength and toughness at elevated temperatures, and excellent resistance to acidic oxidizing environments.

Applications and USE:
REL 470 epoxy novolac vinyl ester resin is suitable for applications involving high temperature chlorination or caustic scrubbing and storage, industrial waste treatment facilities and solvent extraction processes used in mining.
It is also used for hydrochloric acid transport, tank, truck and railcar linings, and gasohol storage.
REL 470 epoxy novolac vinyl ester resin is recommended for most commercial FRP fabrication processes including hand lay-up, spray-up, pultrusion and resin transfer molding. The higher viscosity of REL 470 resin facilitates filament winding and contact molding applications.
